Case study:

ARCTIC ZOO

Arctic Zoo, London’s coldest production house, shoot engaging video content for some of the world’s leading brands. Harding-Lee Media was tasked with creating a brand identity and website that aligned with their premium service and clientele.

Logo development

First Stages

Our first stage of development was stripping back the clients initial concept. We started by building a geometric grid around the ‘A’ from the chosen typeface ‘AquaGrotesque’. This grid was then developed to enable the A & Z to become one solid object. Keeping the logo as legible and minimal as possible, we used a single cut to differentiate the A & Z from each other.

Logo Variations

The client requested variations of their logo, from the icon in its simplest form (to be used across stationary and digital media), to an artistic large scale design (for use across clothing and websites). We developed this by taking natural elements from the Arctic’s landscape and habitats, and combining these together to create an eye catching adaptation of the minimal AZ logo icon.

Colour Palette

Mountain ranges and wildlife were the inspiration behind Arctic Zoo’s colour palette. Included within the brand guidelines were instructions on where best to implement these colours and which version of the logo should be used when applying the icon across the palette.

The website

A website to match Arctic Zoo’s incredible video production.

After the logo development and brand guidelines were signed off, we began work on bringing Arctic Zoo’s website to life.

The website’s design is dictated by the clean and minimal design guidelines we set, whilst using subtle animations, and a mobile-first approach.

An important consideration for the site was showcasing Artic Zoo’s high quality video content, without compromising on load speed and user experience.

We all loved the hero section showreel background video. Take a look for yourself!

Client Testimonials

“Working with Nathan and his team was seamless. Their professionalism from concept, to storyboarding, draft level and then completion was incredible. We’re now confident we have a robust brand identity and a website to match. Cannot recommend them enough!”
